Before going to Hektor, Sakir lives at a base on Jupiter's moon, Himalia. Himalia is used as a simulation of Earth. The simulation runs 84 years behind actual time on Earth, thus allowing Sakir to be prepared for life on Earth in 1969. Most of the residents of Himalia are robots.
