Twinkle Twinkle Unknown Star

Twinkle Twinkle Unknown Star is a 2010 documentary short, produced and directed by Prashant Bhilare. The film documents the fact and the shooting experience of the Pune resident, Sitabai Kondey, who was a body double for a popular Marathi film actor Sandya in film director V.Shantaram's 1952 Hindi language film Jhanak Jhanak Payal Baaje.
Documentary
Sitabai Kondey is Mumbai based filmmaker Prashant Bhilare's maternal grandmother. She was the person who actually jumped in the water in the suicide scene of director V. Shantaram's 1952 film Jhanak Jhanak Payal Baaje. The scene was shot at the Lokmanya Tilak swimming tank in the Deccan suburb of Pune. This fact has been documented in this short.
The documentary short follows the "interview- reference clip" pattern. The interview was filmed at the director's Mumbai residence in the month of december 2010 in Marathi language while the voice-over was done in the English language by the director himself.
Release
The documentary was screened for private audience and the family members in Pune, India. The screening took place in december 2010.
